A new discovery by Japanese scientists will potentially allow gay men to produce their own egg cells from their stem cells, without a female donor.

In contrast to surrogacy, the child will be born with the DNA of both gay parents, reports The Guardian.

A group of Japanese scientists led by Mitinori Saitou of Kyoto University announced that they have finally reached their seemingly impossible goal: producing egg cells from embryonic stem cells, as well as producing of egg cells that can develop into healthy offspring.
